Volunteering

Volunteers enable us to achieve our objectives and volunteering gives you the opportunity to meet interesting people and perhaps make some valuable contacts.

What do volunteers do?

Event volunteers assist with workshops, seminars and other VWC events, often after office hours or on weekends, with duties such as:

  • setting up the VWC Space for the event
  • collecting keys, and opening and/or locking up the room
  • collecting money from participants attending the event
  • meeting and greeting the speakers and guests, and assisting with general enquiries at an event
  • attending to the bar or catering distribution
  • distributing and/or collecting evaluation and membership forms
  • ensuring the library/kitchenette are clean and tidy after the event.

Office volunteers assist, usually during office hours, with administrative duties such as:

  • proofreading
  • mail-outs
  • filing
  • cataloguing
  • data entry.
