Club writers – In Conversation
Friday 28 May 2010, 1:00PM - 2:00PM
This lunchtime 'in conversation' series is to be held on the last Friday of each month from May to November and will feature top local and interstate authors.
For the inaugural session, our special guest is Anne Manne. Anne is a writer and social commentator who has written widely on feminism, motherhood, childcare, family policy, fertility and related issues. Her articles and essays on these topics have appeared in The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, the Australian, Quadrant and Quarterly Essay. Her recent book So This is Life (MUP) was published in November, 2009.
David Astle will be stepping in Sarah L'Estrange's shoes as host for the May session. David has been a freelance writer for over twelve years, tackling such features as bikie gangs and cooking courses. He’s also the author of two novels, plus the true-crime thriller One Down, One Missing, and the trivia-travel guide to Australia, Offbeat. He also regularly reviews for ABC Radio National's The Book show.

As places are limited and to allow for confirmation of VWC events, prior bookings are required for all events. We strongly advise all bookings be made at least one week prior to event start. Bookings are not confirmed until payment is made. Refunds will only be given where a cancellation is made three working days prior to an event. The VWC reserves the right to cancel any event up to two days prior. Due to the nature of a 12-month program, event line-up may be subject to change.
