From Published to the Publisher

Thursday 4 March 2010, 6:30PM - 8:00PM

Presented by: Paul Collins and Euan Mitchell
Rating: All levels
Type: Panel

Meet authors Paul Collins and Euan Mitchell as they discuss their transition from writer to publisher and what it takes to adopt dual roles from the creative to the entrepeneur. This session will provide valuable information on how to market yourself as a writer.

Paul Collins published Australia’s first heroic/epic fantasy novels in the early 1980s. He veered towards writing when HarperCollins published his first novel, The Wizard’s Torment, in 1995. Over the next 14 years he wrote over 120 books for children and young adults. Paul resumed his career as a publisher in 2007. Check out Ford Street’s titles at <www.fordstreetpublishing.com>.

Euan Mitchell had one million words published by three companies – Ausmusic, Hardie-Grant Books, Addenda Publishing (NZ) – before turning his hand to publishing other writers. Best known for assisting thousands of new and experienced writers to self-publish, Euan started Avant Press in 2005 at Box Hill Institute of TAFE to publish its student and staff writing nationally.
