Poetry Masterclass
Saturday 3 July 2010 - Sunday 4 July 2010
Poets are too secretive about each other’s work. They praise or damn but seldom explain – if they can explain – what they’re seeing there. Poetry itself is secretive. This masterclass is a close-up reading-for-writing of your poems. How many nuances, how many operations, how many turns and pleasures are there in your own poems? In those of the other participants? The class discusses: ways of releasing the sensuality and shifting intelligence of language, the role of process in creating style and how to see off problems that occur in your work. To be eligible, please submit a one-page CV demonstrating previous published work, and a sample of your work (up to two pages). Submissions close 15 June. Email program@vwc.org.au
