Speculative Fiction Masterclass

This intensive writing masterclass is aimed at authors working in all aspects of speculative fiction, from science fiction and slipstream to epic fantasy and supernatural romance. It aims to unlock the imaginative process and express it in fiction, through exercises and group critiquing following the Clarion model. The content is tailored for emerging writers with some publication experience.
To be eligible, please submit a one-page CV demonstrating previous published work, and a short sample (1000 words) of previous work. Submissions close 27 September. Email program@vwc.org.au
Lucy Sussex’s science fiction and fantasy work includes three collections of short stories and most recently Absolute Uncertainty (Aqueduct 2006). For teenagers she has written three fantasy novels and edited two anthologies, The Patternmaker and The Lottery (Altered Voices in the US). She has been shortlisted for the GHW and World Fantasy Awards.
