These distinguished screenwriters discuss the process of the pitch, the collaborative role of the screenwriter within screenplay production and what it takes to be a success in the film industry.
Andy Cox has worked as a writer, script editor and developer in feature film, theatre and documentary in the UK, US, Australia and Southeast Asia, and as a development consultant and manager for Screen Australia and Film Victoria. He is the writer of the Australian feature Lucky Country and is currently adapting The Fortunes of Richard Mahoney with Bruce Beresford and Tim Bowden's biography of Neil Davis, One Crowded Hour.
Mac Gudgeon is a freelance writer of film, television and theatre. His feature film credits include Ground Zero (co-written with Jan Sardi and which won four Australian Film Institute awards), The Delinquents and Wind (the Francis Ford Coppola/Zoetrope production). His most recent feature film, Last Ride, directed by Glendyn Ivin, was released in 2009.
