Join these guest playwrights as they discuss the process from script to theatre production, and the importance of collaborative relationships within the theatre.
John Harding is one of Australia’s leading playwrights, with eleven productions staged or broadcast, here and abroad. He is the founding member of Ilbijerri ATSI Theatre Cooperative (Melbourne), and is a tireless worker in the struggle to create a space for Indigenous people on the Australian stage. John wrote Up The Road for Ilbijerri’s first production and went on to win the Australian Human Rights Award for its second extended production and national tour in 1997. He has lectured on Indigenous theatre in various universities and schools, and directed his last three major productions, Enuff at the Malthouse (2002), No Parking (2001) at Theatreworks and Second Helping(2005) at North Melbourne’s Arts House.
Ross Mueller is the winner of the 2008 New York New Dramatists Playwright exchange for his play Concussion. In March 2009 Concussion was premiered by Sydney Theatre Company. His play Hard Core was shortlisted for the 2009 Griffin and 2009 Patrick White Award. He is the winner of the Wal Cherry Play of the Year 2007 for his play The Glory. In March 2007 his play The Ghost Writer was premiered at Melbourne Theatre Company. Construction of The Human Heart was short listed for the 2007 AWGIE Award for Best New Play and nominated for five Green Room Awards. In 2002 he was the Australian playwright at the international residency of the Royal Court Theatre, London.

Bookings are not confirmed until payment is made. Refunds will only be given where a cancellation is made three working days prior to an event. The VWC reserves the right to cancel any event up to two days prior. Due to the nature of a 12-month program, event line-up may be subject to change.
