Writing the Motherlode is a seminar on the themes of poetry, motherhood and children. Poet, Jennifer Harrison discusses the anthologising of women’s poetry on this subject and looks at some key poems from the Australian treasure trove. The focus is on recent women’s writing from the past 20 years. Participants are invited to bring a poem to share with the group for discussion.
Jennifer Harrison has published four books of poetry and her fifth, Colombine New & Selected Poems, will be published by Black Pepper in 2010. Together with Sydney poet, Kate Waterhouse, she co-edited the anthology Motherlode (Puncher & Wattmann 2009).
