Year of the Novel
Saturday 13 March 2010 - Saturday 13 November 2010
These five all-day classes spread out over the year, give budding novelists an opportunity to discuss, write and workshop their novel concept or sections of their novel in a friendly environment. Students are introduced to a range of novel-writing techniques: characterisation, point of view, dialogue, structure and plot, with an opportunity for students to submit their creative work and receive written feedback. Students are requested to bring short sections of their novel to each class for workshopping.
Dr Sallie Muirden has a PhD in Creative Writing from Melbourne University. She has taught creative writing to adults for more than ten years. Her publications include the new novel A Woman of Seville (December 2009), Revelations of a Spanish Infanta, We Too Shall Be Mothers and her poetry collection, The Fable of Arachne.
