Year of the Short Story
Sunday 21 March 2010 - Sunday 21 November 2010
Do you want to publish a short story? Win a prize? Maybe you just want to finish that story you’ve been kicking around for years. Paul Mitchell takes you on a journey through the Year of the Short Story. Focusing on character, beginnings, editing (how do you know it’s finished?), conflict and voice, this is your chance to achieve your short story goals in 2010. You’ll work on one or a number of stories, aiming to produce work to publication standard.
Paul’s short story collection Dodging the Bull (Wakefield Press) was part of the 2008 State Library Summer Read. He has won several short story competitions and his fiction has appeared in Best Australian Stories (Black Ink), New Australian Stories (Scribe), Sleepers Almanacs, Meanjin, Island, Overland and the Readings Bookshop anthology, Readings and Writings. www.paul-mitchell.com.au Please note: For all the Year of Courses a minimum $200 deposit is required at time of booking to secure your place.
